6.7 shuttering problem

Hey guys my grandfather's new 6.7 is having a problem with every now & then you take off in first & shift into 2nd it sputters & shakes almost like your lugging the engine but you let off the fuel & hit it again its fine. I am going to drive the truck tonight & I should hopefully have more info but I don't know much about the new 6.7

Any ideas what it could be?

By the way the truck has Les than 25k miles on it

Dodge has released several revisions to the software for the 6.7 engine computers. I remember some specifically mentioned driveability improvements related to "lurching" at small throttle openings. The dealer will probably reflash the computer with the lastest software if you take it in and tell them you have a problem.

Is it an '07 or '08? If it is an '07, tell him to take it to the dealership for the AX flash. It should fix his driveability issues. If it is an '08, ask for the AP flash.

its an 07.

I drove it for about 60 miles well on the highway it did ok other than the CRAPPY fuel milage. pulling an empty 16ft flatbed I got max 15mpg at 60mph!!!!!

Hell my 99 24v would still have gotten 18 pulling his truck on the trailer at 60!!!!!

but anyways when you take off and you give it plenty of pedal it still acts like it is lugging. Let off the pedal and hit it again and its fine and it will do it almost every time you shift through 1-3 gears
