should i worry
Nevermind the logic, there's a wrench in your tank! Haha. If it were me I would have to get it out. I'd be picturing it doing all sorts of crazy things in there with every bump if it were me, even if its impossible.

Not having much of a imagination what is this little wrench going to do . It can't be very big or it would have got stock in the fill tube and the pickup tube has a screen over it so it can't block it , with oil all around it maybe it would wear a hole in the tank in 50 or 60 years and to think it fly through the fuel and hit anything with any force is just ludicrous . Let's see first we need to bounce it off the bottom have it change direction at get moving at a high speed and than if this happened the chances of hitting the pickup would be one in a million . You would need to be the unluckiest guy alive . I was watching Myth busters the other day and they could not get a high power rife to do any damage at a few feet under water and if you hit anything that would make the wrench move at a hundredth of that speed your truck would be totaled . Your LP is not all delicate try sitting in a tank being hit with fuel slush for 20 years .
suggestion
Since I don't know what all the internal component of the tank, I don't know what sit on the bottom of the tank that would be damage from this procedure. John Halter may know if this would work.
If you can get a hold of a very strong magnet, you can move is around the bottom of the tank, avoiding any mechanical parts, and find where the wrench is. You can probably use the magnet to hold the wrench in place so it doesn't move around. Duct taping it to the tank or some other means, that's if you don't want to extract it. The magnets that I have would probably be strong enough to use just the wrench as it's only contact to hold in place even through the tank walls.
You may be able move the wrench into position to extract the wrench from the tank by moving it close to the fill tube. I don't know if you can actually guide it all the way out though.
The problem would be finding a magnet that can do that. The magnet I have are from older computer hard drives. Since I work in an IT department, we pull apart old drives to destroy the disk platter and pull the magnets out. Some of these mags are so strong that it can't be pulled straight of a metal surface using just your fingers. And two mags attracting each other have can be shattering and dangerous. It's like smashing your fingers with a hammer.
If you can't get a hold of some strong magnets, then it's may not be worth trying it. Just a suggestion.

definetly wont really hurt anything. although it is a good excuse to drop the tank and do the vent mod!!!!
I would get a pretty strong magnet ( like a cb ant magnet) and stick it to the bottom of the tank and slide it around until you had it, then slide it to one side and leave it there. The magnet should hold it with no problem. As far as corrosion I would not worry about it. just my .02
