rubicon transfercase
rubicon transfercase
has anyone heard or installed the rubicon t-case behind a 48re? i read a recent article of a jeep that had a srt-10 engine and trans in it. just curious about getting the 4to1 ratio for crawling.........
i dont think it would hold up very long behind a diesel. if you're even thinking about swapping t-case's for a lower gear ratio, i would suggest an atlas or stak box. owned an atlas, and only seen a stak4x4 box, both are more than adequate for the job and have plenty of ratio's to chose from.
I own a Rubicon. That NV241 is a great case for a lightweight low-powered Jeep.
You will need a case designed for a 1-ton to not break it. 4:1 kits are available for most cases and come at a lot less cost than a new case.
Why do you need 4:1? It is really too slow for anything besides rock crawling.

The NV241 in the Jeep is identical to the NV241 in the Dodge trucks, except for one small thing(s) - the shafts look like they may have been designed for a lawn tractor - so, even tho it's physically the same size, crawl one small rock and it'd be stoned...............
