rpm's drop when clutch is in

Hello Just wandering if anyone else here has had this same issue as I have had. I traded my 02 dodge for an 05 diesel 4x4 in december and ever since I got it, every time I push in the clutch, the rpms drop to about 600 and it sorta shakes. It also blows smoke very easily, has the hard starting issue a few times a month and just runs alot worse than my dad's identical truck. The truck is basically stock except for a missing muffler and a K&N airfilter. I've been taking it to the dealer since about feb. but nothing has been fixed. They've tried a high idle flash, a new ECM and they just flow tested the injectors. Also has anyone ever had to deal with the lemon law issue as I think it has about come to that. I appreciate any replys, thank you.

What type of trans do you have, NV5600 or G56?
Does the trucks RPM's drop when the clutch is pressed to the floor and the trucks in gear?
Or does the RPM's drop when the clutch is pressed to the floor and the trucks in N?

I've seen that symptom in manual shift vehicles when the throw out bearing is bad. I would be suprised if that could drag down a diesel, but I've seen I would be looking at the clutch assembly, not the electronics. I've even seen bent clutch forks that side load the tranny shaft, lower rpms too.

Its a g56 and it happens when its pushed to the floor no matter if in a gear or in nuetral. It's not throwing any codes and its been doing it since I picked it up with one hundred miles on it. They did tell me that there was a problem with the 05 6 speeds that do the not start on the first try. Something about the timing pickup is off on the flywheel and in a few weeks will have a completly new ECM for it and that might help on mine.
