rough idle and blueish smoke!
This morning I started the truck and it was idleing rough, I looked at the tailpipe and there was blueish white smoke coming out of it, lasted about a minute, and after a few hit of the throttle it cleared up, is this normal?? The truck was run yesterday it has not been sitting for more than a day!

I'll be dropping mine off this week for same problem. Seems to be worse the longer it sits. I have heard of a T.S.B. regarding this issue , however mine doesn't meet the criteria .

Welcome to the world of Diesels! The colder it is outside the night before and the morning you start it, the more she'll smoke white. Although my '02 never missed like my 04.5... Truth is diesels are very moody, sometimes I notice mine running noticeably better for no reason, or vice versa. Sometimes the turbo is noticably louder than normal? Why? Who knows. It has something to do with air density, humidity etc. Diesels don't adjust for this like a gas engine with a MAF sensor does.
