Replace or rebuild......
just blew up engine after maybe 6 months of having it... driving down the road and started hearing piston slap in the cylinder.. sounds like rings went on a cylinder.. now. would it be cheeper/easier to replace block or just bore it out, sleeve it, or put oversize pistons in it.. i need to get this thing fixed so i can get rid of this piece of crap. first week i had it had to replace all 6 injectors... week after that turbo blew... need to get it fixed to trade it in for something that runs.
it let go on the highway after about 200 miles into the trip.. its plenty loud.. sounds like a piston with no rings... and blew almost all the oil out the vent tube.. im just hoping it didnt mark up the cylinder walls too bad..

You have a programer that I am sure you have set to Hot and 6 injectors? are you sure one didnt go and you upgraded? And let me guess after you bombed it you cooked your turbo becuase of EGT's. Not really sure the truck is the issue here it maybe the way you drive it
take into granit however, you had 6 bad injectors, when they dumped fuel into the crank case, and diluted the oil, the thinner oil passed through the turbo causing damage, it isnt always a linked connection as having a bad turbo, it could have been caused by the oil problem, and on a side note, could have wore the rings, i wouldnt get rid of a good truck, just replace it with sleeves, and go over, gives you more room to play, or replace the block(if its damaged) it may not be.... gives you room for more play, and egt's are sometimes overkill i have seen trucks that run 1100* egt's and fry a block, and ones the see 1600* constantly and have never had a problem, all of this will relate back to your injector issue, your lucky the bad injector didnt overload the cylinder sooner and melt it... which in this case may just be the old problem, catching up with you....
