Recall 2004 to 2006 2500 & 3500 trucks

Beware of this recall. It is for the clutch safety switch. Apparently, this has caused at least one fatality according to Fox news. Personally, I think this switch should be disabled anyway. I have needed to crank the motor in gear to remove a disabled vehicle from an active roadway when the engine had died. This is not possible with this safety switch functioning as designed. In actual fact, it is impossible to legislate or design around stupid acts. I just love big brother in my face.

I saw this on Fox news.........no link yet. This is the switch on the clutch pedal that prevents engine starting until the clutch pedal is depressed.

Saw the same notice on Fox, as stated, clutch safety switch is malfunctioning. Mine is ok but will wait for more info on the issue.

Don't know why that is such a big deal. My first car was a Saab 900 with a manual that would start in first gear without the clutch pushed in.

I drove that for about six years and never had a problem because I pushed in the clutch when I started it. If I had started it without the clutch pushed in and it lurched I would have blamed myself and not the car.
