Hey all, need some help on purchasing a rebuild kit # 6 just went bad hoping the piston hasn't melted or any scoring on cylinder wall hoping that honing and replacing rings will be all that is necessary. I've never tore into a diesel before, I've rebuilt mostly motorcycles. ? is should I replace all injectors or just # 6 the problem causer. And one more ? is anybody available in the Greeley, Co. area that assist me or know of a good machine shop in the northern Co. area. Truck was bone is stock 175000 on it, planing on going with 5" turbo back cold are intake possibly edge juice if I can find a good deal for the complete kit.
One more thing I found a shop that was willing to the rebuild new rings possible resleeve on #6 and piston if necessary for 6500.00 bucks. Seems like a lot.
