Does anyone know how much diff fluid our rear diffs take with a magtech cover? Does 9 quarts sound right?

140w was 19.99 for some reason, I said no way. I don't tow heavy and don't live in a super hot climate.

Do not try and torque them to the spec. Many havd snapped the bolts off. Just tighten them down and they will be fine.

I'm just getting ready to change my diff fluid and have a stupid question. Is there a gasket under that cover or is it just RTVd?

The Dodge Ram front and rear diffs have gaskets that can be re used once removed. I typically just clean or wipe down the gasket and the mating surfaces prior to placing them back on.

Question on gear lubes. Is Mobil 1 synthetic better, worse, or just about as good as the dealer Mopar stuff? What about royal purple? The royal purple stuff has limited slip additives in it. Is that a problem?
