Lightbulb ready for STACKS but need some HELP !!!

so i finally ordered the stacks today. decided on 7in. aussie stacks. i am planing on going through the cat and then after that have a diverter with two cutouts. one way going up to a y-pipe under the bed.(which will go back and have 2 holes drilled infront of the wheel wells in the bed then have dump stacks going up to the front of the bed and the stacks up from there.) the other side of that diverter will go back to the stock exhaust .

i need advise on how to do the diverter set up and any info on where to buy or make what i need.

any comments, advise, or suggestions welcome

the reason i want to be able to pick between the stock exhaust or the stacks is cuz i primarily haul cattle and cant have smoke and such going back into the trailer. also beceause of the loud factor so i can be able to really hear the truck when i want to but also have it quiet when neccesary and on long trips to eliminate possibility of dorne and such

if your running it thru the cat (and 4" downpipe) the stacks won't be THAT loud...you also wont see much or any performance gains...so at that point your running them for looks...and you are keeping the stock eghaust...why not just mount the stacks in the bed, why bother hooking them up?? sorry, im not tryin to bash ur idea, but IMO stacks are very cool...when they are functional, on modded trucks, spewing smoke and giving people headaches...when i see them on stock trucks, with cats and mufflers i kinda just have to laugh....don't be that truck...

A Y-pipe will not fit under the bed. The fuel tank is in the way and the frame rails are too narrow unless you wanted stacks 1 foot apart. I have seen a couple guys hook up dummy stacks but if you do that, spray paint the insides black so they appear functional.

no there going to be fully functioning stacks and i will be running them about 75% of the time. and about the y pipe idk i just know i have a friend here that did it on the same type of truck and it worked out good and im haveing him help with the install so it should work if not i will just do it the traditional way

to settle any confusion i dont wat these stacks just for the looks they are going to be fully functional and be used

To answer some of your questions, the Y pipe will have to be in the bed, the fuel tank is in the way to run the other pipe there. Also, I have the 7" aussies and I had the cat on and just recently took it off. My opinion is the sound level with the cat on was VERY reasonable. With the cat off....well lets just say its stupid loud! I really cant believe it makes that much difference but it does. Just run it with the cat I am sure you would be happy.
