raptor or air dog
raptor or air dog
I'm interested in replacing my stock fuel pump on my 03. Its got 75000 mi on it. I cant decide which to get. In either case it will be the 100 version. I'm interested in the easier install of the raptor and being able to keep the stock fuel heater. But the filtering of the air dog looks good. Can you guys help me with the pros and cons of each set up so I can finally make a decision?
I'm leaning towards the Raptor pumping to the stock filter canister with a Baldwin 7977 filter to a Cat 2 micron secondary filter to the CP3. Word has it the Airdog filters don't meet the Cummins specs on water seperation.
I can't tell you the advantages but I have the raptor 150 and love it. It is a bit noisy but it's something you get used to. Very easy to install took all of an hour. I'd just recommend going with the 150 though as if you decide you need the fuel later you already have it for the $10 more.
Who says you can't get the airdog and just keep the stock canister? I'm running the Baldwin 7977, and with all this water contamination talk I'm looking into EXTRA filtration on top of my stock canister.
