Okay:

I used to run a 2000 Dodge 2500 Cummins 5.9 and used a Fleetguard LF3894 Strata Pore oil filter of which I still have one on the shelf. A couple of years ago I upgraded to a 2005 Cummins HO ... still 5.9, but now the 05's list a LF16035 Strata Pore... Like what's up with that. All this time I've been thinking that there is a difference here... turn the filters over and Whallahh.. Ahhh, looks all the same to me.
Anyone know why they use different numbers.. is there a flow difference here of something?

the lf16035 has a octigon base on it for removal identical to your filter use the lf16035 filter on all modles 89 through current

 

^^^^^only difference is the filter base...both r stratopre filters.

I emailed Cummins one time and they told me that the 3894 was the same filter as the 16035, minus the flutes. I had no problem buying 3894's as they are a buck or two cheaper.
