Ram Questions

I am considering getting rid of my 04 F350 4x4 CC P/Stroke 6 speed and getting either a 4x2 or 4x4 3500 dually. I love everything about my Ford except that **** engine. It has zero power below 1800 rpm and it is driving me nuts.

I would like to know what kind of issues the Rams have quality wise both interior, exterior and drive train. I will only consider the 6 speed and Manual Shift on the fly transfer case with the Cummins engine but I would like input from anyone with a Ram.

Thanks,

Joe

I have an 04.5 4x4 dually, pics in gallery, I love my truck, fuel milage is not great,13-15 in town seen 17 on hwy, but I guess its not to bad for 410 gear. I don't know of any real major issues , there are a few tsb's out. I do agree if I were you I would get the 6 spd.

I switched from a problem plagued 99 PSD and couldn't be happier with my Ram. I've had it 13 months now with 16K on it. The only problem I've had was a thermostat housing seep at 4k.

21k miles on a 04.5 in 10 months and no issues so far. The door seals are torn but they have an improved seal out that will be replaced by the dealer under warranty, just have not had time to take it in. With a few mild mods I am now getting around 19 - 19.5 empty (town and interstate are about the same but I live in a low traffic area). All that with gobs of power and 35" tires.

Love this truck!

get the 3.73 unless you plann on going to taller tires than stock

i have the 3500 dually with the 3.73 getting much better mpg than my buddies with the 4.10, climbs colorado mountains in overdrive even with the 3.73

only 2600 mile on it and am getting 17-18 mpg running empty climbing the hills everyday when it breaks in i should get even better.

My brother in law owns a 2005 PSD and every time he gets in my Ram he gets Edit. Not because he has to ride in a RAM, but because he didn't buy a RAM and doesn't have a Cummins!

If towing any serious weight get the 4.10s.Neighbor has a 05 3.73 and towing 8k through twisty/mountain roads and interstate it eaither lugs or kinda screams downshifting into 3rd.He says mine pulls MUCH better then his.At least with the auto he would NOT get 3.73s again.
