Rail pressure vs. transfer pump...

Real simple question: Can rail pressure be adequate if the transfer pump is failing or otherwise not performing?

IF not, then what else could possibly cause a lack of fuel if the rail pressure is adequate? Clogged injectors? A bad injector all together?

I'm wondering because I can't develop the EGT's or power I used to, but the dealership has checked my rail pressures under normal and towing conditions, and everything is spot on. Boost is normal, and there is no smoke. But, I don't have the oomph or heat I used to. All indications are lack of fuel, but...

From what I have read, the injector pump on the 3rd gens will work just fine without any lift pump at all. But, some people who have put a better transfer pump on their trucks have seen better performance.
You might want to get a fuel pressure guage to check yours..

1.No
2.A whole host of reasons, bad pressure pump etc.
Clogged fuel filter, fuel line falls off truck etc.
Stuck open injectors (rail pressure being least of worries).
3.Get a fuel pressure gauge.

4. You might be suffering from the dreaded:
"I need more power syndrom"
I am currently suffering this, it is bad too.
Probably terminal.
