whoa....what a difference 16oz makes

I put a 16oz container of "Diesel Kleen" in with my fill up yesterday and it is like I am driving someone else's truck today.

Did not have the early morning clatter when starting out and I can tell a big difference in accelleration.

The instructions on the bottle recommended to use with every fill up and I am wandering if something that potent might have ill effects using it that much.

Thanks,
Rick

Lightman- opinions are opinions, however I can assure you there is a marked improvement.

Driving the same road, same speeds, same driving conditions the past two months, I have averaged 17.3 to 17.9mpg religiously(handcalculated).

Curiousity from the way it drove, sounded and felt made me go top it off just a little while ago after making the same trip, to and from today as has been done the past two months.

Just handcalculated it again and it's 19.2mpg.

I'll stick with my opinion.

I just switched to Lucas fuel cleaner and I'll be a horses rear end if it didn't increase the mileage on my 01 from 15 to almost 17 mpg. I drive the same route at the same speed every day. As far as it running better or quieter, don't know, but the mpg increase is there.

There is nothing wrong with diesel clean. I have used it in the past and I personaly cant tell the diference but I balive it is a good thing to run every once in a while. I will probobly start using it or power service in every few tanks as the weather starts to get colder.

I like stanadyne use it every fill up been running diesels for 20 years would not run one without additives. I have never had fuel related problems!

I used Stanadyne since day one for my truck so I can't say if it improved anything. The only thing I remember was when I asked the diesel mechanic if it is worth running this stuff, he said every one should lube the internals of diesels and this stuff is the best. So, here I am using it. Truck runs like a champ and my best so far has been 18.4 mpg's. It gives me the warm fuzzy feeling.

Say what you want. Diesel Kleen was the only additive that made a significant difference in my fuel mileage, and I do a lot of mileage. But unfortunately, the fuel savings just paid for the 16 ounces so I abandoned it. I also now run Stanadyne PF.

Rick, it sounds like you need to find a better fuel source. Did you fill in the same place for this tank that you dosed? Diesel kleen typically makes zero difference in noise or running condition, and I've tried it in 3 different vehicles. Stanadyne made my MB and VW run a little bit quieter at idle, however it's got a demulsifier which I don't like.
