Question Question on high idle???

Hey guys, After pulling a steep grade for about 10 minutes and holding egt's at 1300-1350 up the grade, after i pull over to let the truck cool down, it automatically goes into high idle for about 1-2 minutes then comes back down. This is with no tuner on the truck, just stock software. Is this how the truck is cooling the turbo down. Thanks..Justin

I think that it says something about that in the owners manual...

I'd watch those EGT's...

Thanks Madhat, According to most guys, these trucks can run 1400 deg. all day long. Under stock conditions of course. I have not had a problem yet at 57,000 miles. Hopefully it stays that way..

That's what they say... I know mine can hit 1600 for a few seconds and not be dead... be careful...
