Perhaps a stupid question but I'll ask anyway.

Is there any added benefit to physically removing the injectors for cleaning? Rather than running "brand X" additive at each fill-up, yank them out and soak/scrub them with the same additive, or some other type of solvent?

 

You risk doing me damage than good. Just pull a heavy load from time to time and it will clean those tips up very quickly.
