Pro Comp Tires

Im looking at picking up a pair of Pro Comp 35x12.50R17 Xtreme All Terrain, Load Range D tires. Is anyone running this tires or know if these tires are any good for off road and road driving and tread wear, ride, ect? Or does anyone have any suggestions for tires there are similar?

Thanks,
PJ

I am currently running those exact tires, and I won't go back to them. I have about 22k miles on them, and they might last another 3-4k. I tried to get them pro-rated, as they have a 40k mile warranty, and teh 4wp I took them to said they won't warranty them because I drive up and down a winding mountain road daily for my commute, and that's not "normal wear and tear" according to them. So, from here on out, I will no longer shop at 4wp, or buy procomp tires.

Wow that's garbage!

You should really try to get a "E" rated tire anyhow.

for the people who have them, how are the in the mud and on the road? I want a tire were I can play in the mud and not have to worry to much about getting stuck cause of my tires but a tire that is good on the road and not to noise.

I have these tires and I drive in some terrible conditions during spring break-up in Alberta Canada doing checks on rigs. I will drive 500miles on a highway then 50 in the mud and don't have too many issues. I am at about 35% left and have about 44kmiles on them and still going. They work great for me.

I refuse to goto 4 Wheel Parts, for anything. I won't even window shop there. I had a problem with my air bag pressure gauge and basically it was a slow leak coming from the drivers side bag that I couldn't find with the soapy water trick and they couldn't find it either. Their recommendation was to install a whole new Firestone Air Bag kit.

Took it over to Les Schwab, they not only found the problem with the gauge ....... but replaced it under a warranty I didn't know I even had.

Now THAT'S service.

I would try and get some toyo all terrains, we have some procomps on our hunting jeep and are only about 7months old that just aren't holding up in the rough terrain we drive in. So that's why I won't trust'em to drive on with my rig.

Sounds like I am the odd man out, and my tread lug seperation problem was an isolated incident, but I will say that based on how I was treated by 4wp, I will never shop there again, and because of the sub par construction on one of the tires that I have, as well as them not lasting, I won't be buying pro comp tires ever again either.

I'm on my second set of 35x13.50R20's and other than maybe putting Toyo's on I wouldn't tun anything else. I had a set of Nitto Terra Grapplers and had a terrible time with them wearing bad, steering was not very good, and one blew out on me splitting in 7 places from the rim out to the tread on the sidewall. As far as off road ability, they are great. Check out this pic with my truck, never got stuck once with them yet:

I am by no means easy on them and got 44K out of my last set, I have 18K on this set and doing great so far. I had a split in the sidewall on one that looked like a small dry rot, and they replaced it 2 days later, no questions asked.

Great pic tajinate!!!!!!
I have the 305-65-17s and so far they are great. Good traction on and off road and this size is E rated. They are wearing really well and look like I will get better than 40k out of them. Only thing I will warn you is keep them inflated, balanced and rotated. Of coarse any big tire this is important. I run 60 psi in the front and 55 in the back when not loaded.
