Rough Idle low end chatter knock

Seems my truck just in the past days has developed a little chatter or knock after shifting, goes away when the rpms go up seems to idle a bit rougher. 61000 miles oil pressure and temp are fine. gonna do a fuel filter and see if that clears things up.. thoughts?

Not sure. I don't think it will just give up the ghost. It will start slipping first. Maybe one of the guys that has been through this before will chime in.

If it is indeed the DMF,It should get worse first
Solid flywheel is the best way to go but you'll sacrifice some noise/vibration reduction

I didn't have a DMF but had a clutch which would slip even with the slightest aggression, a pressure plate and bearing that chattered like crazy and I feared the same but i drove it with care(most of the time anyways) for about 8 months 16K kms and it held till i was ready for my SBC
Good Luck

There's tons of options out there. Personally though, for the quality of a product, its price and most important of all customer service, South Bend is the leader
You may even want to ring Peter @ South Bend. Describe your issue to him.
He's great wealth of information and a good listener

I feared the same but drove it with care (sometimes anyway) for about 8 months/16K kms and it held till i could afford the overhaul and my SBC

Good Luck & Keep us Posted

When idling does the chatter go away when you press in the clutch? I have a 2006 Dodge 6 speed manual 71k miles. A few months ago i began to here a chatter at idle and while pulling heavy loads. About three weeks ago i put a solid flywheel and clutch in it and after about a week the chatter got about three times louder. I pulled the tranny back out and found that the input shaft had some up and down movement in it. I pulled it apart and found that both bearings on the input shaft were shot. The only place i found that lists bearings for it is dodge
