Question Pro comp 35's

Has anyone got these tires? 35x12.5/17AT's I was wondering how they last and what kind of traction in snow and ice? will they fit the stock aluminium rims ? also what are some good lift kits for the 3g's. Check my members photos and you will see why I need good tires for winter.

The at's are great for lasting milege but terrible for traction in Texas dirt and mud anyway(not sure about snow) I've also had the mud terrains, they are awesome! They aren't loud, great traction, and they last very well w/ proper rotation. Hope this helps, I know I didn't answer your question, just my 2 cents.

I would suggest KOs over the ProComps.

What weird is the really good lift manufacturers like Rubicon Express (I'm a Jeep man) don't make lifts for the HD Rams. I think Superlift is a decent choice, forget SkyJacker they suck especially for what you have to pay. SJ heims joints wear out very fast and Superlift suspension ride pretty rough, but none have the quality I would trust for real offroading, but I know nobody on here will be doing that with a big honkin new truck. There are also tons of "street lifts" out there with enough chome and 10" lift blocks to make you sick.

Get long arms if you can afford it. There is a smaller company I've seen somewhere that seem to build really good lifts that use coilovers, but forgot the name. I think they are in Cali...

If you're looking for a good suspension kit, I'd take a serious look at T-Rex (http://www.trexengineering.com). These kits are totally performance based, not just cosmetic junk like so many others. Since they build a custom kit for every application, I don't know how much $$ it would run you, but I'm willing to bet that it wouldn't be cheap. Then again, good stuff isn't cheap, and cheap stuff isn't good, right?? With parts like King and Fox reservoir shocks and progressive springs these are quality kits, giving you 2.5 inches of lift, more articulation and a lot better dampening than an ordinary lift kit.

Good luck!

I got 40K out of my ProComp AT's, they still had ~60% tread left when I sold them to a buddy to put on his SD. They worked fine on dirt, never had them in the snow and didn't dare take them in the mud. Personally, I'd stay away from the BFG AT's, for some reason the set I had picked up nails and screws like they were magnetic.

As far as the lift goes, the T-Rex is a really nice set up, but for over $3K it had better be. There are some pretty extensive threads over at TDR regarding the T-Rex stuff. Stay away from Stupidlift, that stuff is junk. Most of the other manufacturers use a coil spacer to achieve lift, and I'm not a big fan of using spacers on anything. DT/Profab also has some nice looking control arms. The DT arms, track bar and some custom coils would make a nice lift. You would still need a drop pitman arm, shocks, and add-a-leafs or spring packs for the back. If I did it over again, I would probably go that route.

I've had the Skyjacker single flex kit for 5 years, 140K+. I have the Heim joints on the axle end only and they are not worn out- yet. Stay away from Skyjacker's adjustable track bar, I've had to modify mine so I can live with it.

Their coils are also a bit stiff for my taste, I replaced them with some custom 5.5" coils with a softer spring rate. The new coils were only ~$325.

Keep in mind (like you haven't already hear this) that the bigger meats and lift are hard on front end components. If you don't believe me, I'll send you some tie rod ends, ball joints, cross joints, U-joints, a carrier bearing, and maybe even a steering box on Monday, all WELL worn for your convenience. I'm replacing most of that stuff this weekend.

hey man i work in albertas oil patch and just put some pro comp mud terrains on my dodge and before i had bf g. all terrains and these have way better traction, balance better and perform when ya need them to. I chose these over good year mtr's, and bf g mud terrains.

No Complalints so far.
