My steering can be a little sticky once in a while when maneuvering at idle in a parking lot/driveway, but never on the road.

Sounds like a driving safety issue to me; I'd take it in soonest.

Bet its in the rack/steering sector and not the powersteering pump etc.I'd get it looked at asap.

Steering !

I have a friend that has a 3500 Cummins. His wheel locked up completely. DC looked at it and replaced the steering box. As he was driving out of the parking lot it locked up again. The box was full of shavings again. It turned out the rack and pinion was making major metal and jammed the whole system. DC was trying not to cover it under warranty until my friend called DC as well as Transport Canada making a major issue out of it. I hope this isn't going to be another problem.

good point, I didn't think about the 2wd, or do I know if there are racks under them. The 4wd are ball and sector.

2wd is rack and pinion.Been some bad steering boxes on 4x4s and bad steering sectors on the rack assys. One gets a steering box the other gets a rack assy.
