Possible seriouse problem

Ok, a little info to be gin with, the other day I installed an L tank thatw as plumbed into my fuel tank, anyways, it was extremely rusty inside and i didn't check, so I had to clean out my factory tank and the lift pump screen , ect after I burned a fuel filter and my water light came on.

Now that I have it back together it seems that it idles kinda rough, like it is bobbing from 700-800 RPM, but the tach isn't moving, and when I accelerate heavily (straight pipe) it seems to sound diffrent, almost like its popping a little like a 7.3 powerstroke does. It doesn't seem to have any powerloss, ect. It was dark when I got it fixed so i don't know about any unnormal smoking, ect. This could all be in my head, but i need to know if it needs to be professionally looked at.

Thanks guys.

Also, if i disconnect my fuel line in the middle (my steel lines have been cut for an extra pump) when i trun the ignition to on the factory lift pump only shoots fuel from the line for a second or 2 or 3 , is this correct for it to do that?

Not sure about the other problem, but yes it's normal for the lift pump to run for a couple seconds. If you want it to continue running for a while then bump the engine without starting it.
