Possible torque converter problem????

Yesterday while driving with the cruise on at 60mph I noticed that my TC seemed to be switching in and out of lock. The RPMs kept swinging up and down about 200 revs and I could feel it at the same time. The speed for the most part stayed the same. I took it out of OD for few min.s and didn't notice the swing but it did it some more once back in OD.
This doesn't sound good to me, any Ideas???

Yes it could be. Remove and spray down with electrical cleaner while moving the shaft around. good-luck

Do a search on TPS cleaning and separate the wires from the original harness. Run them in there own loom as far as you can. Sometimes you get what is called "noise coupling" in the wires making it act strange.

Would cold weather increase the tendency to have such noise? Kinda like plug wires jumping spark when it's cold?

The noise coupling should be the same no matter what the temp, it's not like a high voltage ignition leak. The only problem is that you never know what it will do or when. It's noise being fed into the computer and they are pretty flakey when you feed them garbage noise, never can tell what they will do. Just seperate the wires from the main loom and you should not have probs with it. Computers love nice quiet lines!!

You might also check the sensitivity of the brake pedal switch...the TC unlocks if it actuates. A small bump in the road could cause it to actuate if adjusted wrong.
