changing diff oil
Although if you don't tow I'd bet the world wouldn't end if you waited for 40k, personally I do mine on the 15k schedule so there won't be any questions, warranty wise...
Once the warranty is up, though, I might bump to 30k. It's a quick and easy job with the reuseable gasket, but synthetic fluid is kind of pricy.

Find a tractor supply or Rural king and buy the 2 gallon or 5 gallon jugs of Harvest King Gear oil.
They have 80w90 or 85w140 and its only about $36 for 5 gallons!
You can afford to change your front and rears whenever you want and not worry about it breaking the bank.
The stuff works good too! I use it in my sledpuller and my tow rig (tow's 15k lbs).

Buy a quality brand that comes in the bottles with the applicator on top- makes it easier to dispense the oil into the diff. No mess when filling , no fooling around. Just cut the tip and away you go!

Recently changed to Mag Hy-Tec cover and 75W140 Valvoline Synthetic( 8 quarts with the new cover!) Going to run it to 20,000 and check it. If all looks good, I will go to 30,000 intervals.
Hhhhmmm, I guess I should change the diff oil in it. . .
On another note, I will be changing the diff oil in my 06 CTD next week. 16K miles.
