Plumbing fuel pressure gauge
Plumbing fuel pressure gauge
I rec'd my fuel pressure gauge today. I thought the best place to plumb it in would be using the replacement banjo bolt and snubber and tapping into port A in the first photo.
The directions say to tap into the bottom of the filter housing, second pic. Is this just because it may be easier to wire or is there some better reason?
What do y'all do?

I would tap A as well..I did it on my last truck. Genos Garage sells a banjo bolt that has an 1/8npt at the top for this. Much easier then messing with drilling and tapping the stock banjo. Its like $14 shipped
I did A too. One reason many will suggest not putting it there is because of the vibration of the motor causeing it to malfunction, break, etc... Mine has been there for 54k miles and no problems yet.
I ended up getting a grease gun line and used the banjo and snubber I got from Geno's.
The gauge is in and the sensor is in, doing leak checks. May have time to finish up the wiring tomorrow. I appreciated y'alls feedback on the tap location.
It's a little tight but I didn't have to cut out the snap-in piece behind the dash.

I also put mine at A, got a tapped banjo bolt from vulcan. Uses a snubber, to stainless steel line to gauge. Likely got 30,000kms, not sure in miles. Not sure why it would wreck the sender or gauge. The engine sensors are mounted to the engine, dont seem to give a problem.
This may be a bit off topic, but instead of adding gauges to the dash, steering column or a-pillar, I've been toying with the idea of reworking the overhead console electronics so that it can display boost, egt, fuel pressure, etc., along with its regular stuff.
I've seen bullydogs display and other digital gauges, but I'd prefer a cleaner install, using the overhead display. Anybody else interested? Could also have warnings for low FP, high EGT, whatever.
