p2509
I have a '03 2500, stock as can be, and in the stored codes I have a p2509. I know what the code is and I checked out the diagnostic poop, you know, check this then check that if blah blah....and went as far as I could go, like making sure the grounds were clean. You know, the primitive stuff. I just discovered the code by screwing around with a scanner (won't do that again). It has never set off a CEL, this truck has never missed a beat and the truck runs like new, 77 g's on the odometer.....Any experience or thoughts ?????

Battery posts are sqeaky clean. I tested the sitting voltage on the batteries, seems to be about 12.6v (maybe not the best if the heaters come on). Batteries are original equipment. So they could be getting to the point of of replacement. The truck was under the knife for about 7 days for front end work, so if the batteries are getting to the marginal stage that would cause the issue...Correct ?
Whats the average life of the batteries with the diesel ? I know with 4yrs & 77g's with anything else is stretching it...
Thanks guys for the help.

just take the truck to autozone and have them load test the battery's...make sure you isolate each one if you test them together you will not get the right results....if one battery is bad always replace them both at the same time.
