The one code you all hate seeing P0148
Well here is the deal i have a 2006 2500 with 109,000 miles. I have been geting the code for months now and its been runing fun. Last saturday i put my plow on and was on my way home and the truck just about made it home. It just about fell on its face on the highway it went from 80 to 40 with my foot to the floor. I have been reading al the thread about p0148 can cant see to find anything that will help me. I have replaced the lift pump and swaped the injector pump out with the one in my 07 and the truck is still runing the same. Back in the summer i had to replace injector #5 and i know that the other ones are on there way out. If im on the highway it will run great sometimes and others it will have no power at all. When i get down to about 40mph it will shut off but will start right back up.
I need to get this truck fixed befor the snow comes its one of my main trucks.
Any help would be great.
Thanks
Danny

Relief valve is in on top of the rail, right next to the sensor that you replaced, It has a fuel return line out of the top of it. For testing purposes a bolt can be purchased and stuck in it's place. For further description try the search feature.
Fuel filters OK? Sounds like you need to do more testing instead of swaping parts.

Yes the fuel filter is new but you said filters are there more then one that i dont know about?
What is your fuel pressure? Rail Pressure?
Have you checked voltage at the pump? I know you said your FF is new, have you looked at it? Could it be jelled fuel?
Here is what the dealer says...
Symptom:
P0148-HIGH PRESSURE COMMON RAIL (HPCR) CHECKSUM
When Monitored and Set Condition:
P0148-HIGH PRESSURE COMMON RAIL (HPCR) CHECKSUM
When Monitored: While the engine is running.
Set Condition: A deviation between the fuel pressure set point and the actual fuel
pressure.

thats what they did with mine last trip in mad, all the way to the bottom, 6 new injectors, cp3, and lift, somehow they think the lift went bad, sendin stuff downstream, but how on earth it made its way past the filter is beyond me, but hey, they fixed it, and the code went away.
