Which one ,4 inch or 5 inch?
Will be swapping out my stock exhaust shortly.Truck is 07 5.9 auto with 4.10 gears. No other mods.Would like to get an aggressive sound without drone at highway speeds.Engine rpm at 65 mph is:2000 rpm.Definitely would like to eliminate cat so I guess Im looking at getting a turbo back system.Must be full stainless in order to hold up to Vermont winters.Do I need to worry about ECM codes?Must be able to hear radio at highway speeds. How about mileage?I'm getting about 19.3 mpg hand calc. Thanks for any advice ,andy.
I just put the mbrp five inch turbo back full stainless on my truck last week. haven't bothered to look at egt or mpg but it is rather loud it drones a bit at highway speed, i just turn up my radio though. I used to have the stock system witht the cat and muffler removed and just a twister muffler made by flo pro its almost straight through with some blades inside to make a vortex in the tail pipe and draw air out due to lower pressure or something like that. It had a really uniqe sound not too raspy. If your looking to not get the drone you will definately want a system with a muffler. I would stay with a 4 inch since so far the 5 inch seems loud on the highway. hope that helps
No I haven't had any engine lights on my truck from the exhaust yet. The 5.9 doesn't have any of that new dpf garbage in the exhaust. I have had the exhaust done since the third day I owned the truck and just did the 5 inch and still no codes. I love the 5" though, so loud and people cross the street a little quicker when they hear you coming from 4 blocks back, haha.

EXACTLY!
An if your truck already has a 4" factory system all you really need is a new free flowing muffler.
I think lotsa people get bigger pretty shiny exhaust for the looks which is fine I guess if you have lotsa money to waste...

My truck isn't my daily driver and I like loud pipes so I'm thinking the 5" is the way to go
