Oiling the 'O' Ring on the Fuel Filter?

I haven't ever oiled mine either. Never thought about it. So far so good though. Guess I need to make note of this and start doing it before I DO have a problem.

Thats what ive always done, but the filter housing got knocked over, so i read the directions and it said you can use engine oil too. Dumped some clean 15w40 oil on the oring. Funny they say you cant run oil in the fuel for extra lubricity, but you can lube the oring with it lol. Must not be enough to matter

Who is “THEY”? When you say - they say you can not run a little motor oil in your fuel.

Cummins themselves said running small amounts of oil in your fuel is fine.

ive never heard of running 4 stroke engine oil in the fuel. Ive heard of running 2 stroke oil, but that it is not recommended in the common rails. Only 2nd gens
