Hello Guys,
I am a (newby) to Dodge and the Cummins. I was a long time fan of the other Truck you know that nasty four letter word that starts with "F". Please don't hold it against me. To make a long story short I went this week and drove a new Dodge Dually and a New Ford Dually. Well you see what I bought... Taking a bunch of ribbing from the family..anyway... The truck I bought only has 24,ooo miles and some change. But the oil pressure seems to be a little low. When Idling after a hundred miles trip on the way home it is only a little above the low line. When doing 70 @ 2000 rpm it is a little above 40 psi per the gauge? Sorry for the long post new to this Animal......Guys thanks for being nice to us umm how shall we say it ........... ex Ford lovers...
Thanks,
Scott

Sounds like normal pressure to me. Have you changed the oil yet? 15-40 Shell Rotella T is a good all season oil if you plug it in.
Gauges show deviations from normal. Study them like you are doing and they will tell you when something is wrong.
Did you read the thread on water in the tank of "03"? You might need to check out your tank.https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...ighlight=water
Ford makes a good medium duty truck, and Dodge makes a good medium duty truck too. It's when you add the CTD is when you get my attention. You made the correct choice.

Dodge makes a good medium duty truck? What truck is that?
Your oil pressure "gauge" is not a gauge at all. Its a map in the ECM that tell the gauge what the pressure should be for the given operating conditions.
In actuality, its a switch. If the oil pressure drops below 8 psi, the gauge over rides the ECM and sends the needle to zero.
