oil pan leak question 2003 Ram 2500 Diesel 4x4

Hi all. I'm having oil leak from the front of the oil pan. it looks to be coming from around the bolts. I tightened the bolts a little. But I'm wondering if there is a way to replace the seal. Can the pan be removed from under the truck easily. And put a new gasket on? Thanks

Mine did that, I snugged up the front pan bolts and it's not gotten any worse.. seems to be a fairly common issue from what I've seen on this forum

Thanks for the reply. I also snugged up the bolts but it still dripped over night.

Could also be rear crank seal or front crank seal. Sloppy oil change or loose oil filter. Check oil fill level make sure oil level is not over full mark. If over full mark could have injector issue.

So if oil is leaking around the bolts, is there a seal to replace? If there is an oil pan seal can the pan be removed from under the truck easily for replacement? Thanks, I do not have a service manual for reference.

You have to unbolt motor mounts and lift engine up to remove the oil pan.

I have this same issue, but it seems to be at the back of the pan. I tightened the bolts, but it's still leaking. Is there a way to be sure that it's the pan and not the rear mail seal?

Try and look up through the auto tranny inspection plate with a flash light to try and get an idea if its the main seal. Had mine replaced. Leaked a little then got worse. One day parked on an incline started to get a small puddle.
