Oil Leak... Help

Okay here is the story...

I get up this morning for work, running late as usual, and find that my truck has dumped what looks like at least 5-6 quarts of oil on my driveway.

Anyone else ever find this when they get into their trucks? I drive some 35 miles one way to work and then again going home. It is all highway 65-75mph. I just got the oil changed 2 weeks ago without any problems. I change the oil between 7k and 9k miles. Dealership has told me to watch it and change it if it looks grungy or by 10k because I do so much highway driving. I have just rolled 78k miles on the truck and never had an issue like this. I have not even got underneath it due to me being late as I was to work this morning.

This is my first diesel and do not know what I should be looking for. Before I tow it to the dealer I would like to do some checking myself. Would warranty cover this anyway? (Cummins 100k)

I had to drive my wife's gasser to work this morning, I want my truck back soon.

Thanks for any and all help.

Big, To loose that much oil you would have a circle of oil about 10 feet in diameter. Check the oil pan plug, the oil filter and the turbo oil line. That is a huge loss. You've lost all the oil in the pan and then some. ks

My bet is it is something simple. Filter maybe loose or over tightened, cross threaded, cracked, loose drain plug.

Hang in there man.

My driveway is on a slope and all concrete. The puddle stretches from the front passenger side, the high side, down to the rear wheels and is about 4-5 feet width. Is the pan on that front side of the truck? If the place where I got the oil changed did not tighten up the plug etc. could it have taken 2-3 weeks for it to loosen and come off like that?
