Nv5600 issues

So 6th gear in my girlfriends truck started to grind after her dad borrowed it but if you went to neutral between 5th and 6th all was good after a few weeks started to get harder to go into gear truck has 150xxx on it bought it used and didn't know service record so changed oil with 6qt of penzoil syncro mesh and trans shifted smooth again except for 6th yesterday she says it was hard going into 4th on the way to work was cold out so figured cold oil this morning said wouldn't hardly go into any of lower gears 5th and 6th were normal I'm thinking between her learning to drive a stick towing very heavy a couple times and her dad loving to play that the clutch is shot and not releasing but always want a second opinion before spending the cash so what yall think?

Strained the old fluid was no chunks or debris and very very little silver sheen to it. The consistencey was good didn't feel gritty also wasn't burnt. Girlfriends dad drove it back to our house said after warm started shifting normal been reading up on this issue think I'm going to ad some mopar limited slip additive to it and see what happens

When cold did the transmission go into first or second gear easily with the engine running while sitting still? If so most likely not a clutch or pilot bearing issue.
A clutch or pilot bearing dragging will make it very difficult to get into gear while at a stand still.

amsoil now makes the syncro mesh. Best I have found yet. Best shifting and quiet. I had hard shift, got worse and worse when using Pennzoil witch is factory. The price kind of sucks and finding it is a pain but I feel its a worth it.
