I get 16-17 around town driving like a fool in mine. I've nailed 21mpg on the hwy (cruising just above 60) with the A/C on. This was all before the Juice w/ Attitude

My '03 standard output gets 21-22mpg highway, 18-19 city, 17-18 towing 8000# at interstate speeds with the AC on. I couldn't be happier with it.

That was me...until I got my 285s. Sigh, oh well- at least they look better than the 265s.

21 MPG Mixed highway/city.
28 MPG Highway only.

This is based upon a Canadian gallon (about 1/5th more than an american gallon)

It isnt impossible to get 30mpg with these trucks. Diesel power magazine did a test a few months ago and I believe they got 32.

My very very stock '03 with very very worn Michelins driven very very conservatively averages over almost 100K miles 19.305.

All highway I could do over 700 miles on a tank. In fact, lately I think 800 MIGHT be achievable.

Most I tow is usually 5,400LB tow behind 2 axle tank trailer that goes about 2,000 empty. Longest I tow it is about 275 miles each way about once a month. Which I'll be doing Thursday or Friday.

I run highway at least 75% of the time. And I usually run at 1800rpm NEVER exceeding 1900.

Having 2WD seems to be worth at least several tenths.

I've wondered about this too, even went to the dealer but no help. My '03dually with 4.10's gets 12-13 and my '03 SRW with 3.73 gets 16-19. Thats with stock tires and both are auto's. Oh and hand calculated of course.

Try more like 20%. A canadian gallon is 4.54 litres while an american gallon is 3.8 litres, a difference of 0.8 litres or approximately one fifth. so my 21.5 MPG mixed city and highway works out to be 18 of your miles.

16-18 in town
24-26 on the highway @ 70-80mph
26-27 on highway at 60-65mph

Truck has 265's, BHAF, special ECM tune, and some vb mods I made.

Believe it or not. I don't care. These early models with right setup can great baddonkey mileage. Got a good friend with 03' dually that gets 28mpg cruising @55-60mph on highway. He's an old timer and takes it easy. Got 265's, BHAF, Banks 6-Gun, and modded tranny.
