Right ater I start my 06 there is a sound almost like a rubbing or scraping. Seems like it may be coming from the fan clutch area. Has anyone had this happen . THANKS!

I get the same sound more or less, it is a clunk with a metal to metal scrape. Only hear it first thing in the morning.

Now that you mention it I will go out and start mine to see if I can better isolate it. I was not worried about it but I am going in for an front diff oil leak repair next week so may have them look at this also.

Is your AC on or off when this happens?

AC off. I try to never start my truck with the AC on.

Mine does it too. It only does it when it hasn't been driven for a couple of days. A couple weeks ago, I hadn't driven it for a couple days, started it up, walked around the front of it to move my trash cans out in the street and it did it when I was right in front of the truck and it made me jump. I think it's the fan clutch.

You can start with the A/C on... The A/C computer delays the compressor clutch engagement for 2 seconds after the engine starts.

you can't mess it up even if you want to!
