Noise of Cummins

I was reading my owners manual the other day and I noticed that I have to go in for regular noise maintenance. Including the exhaust system, and intake system.. What are they talking about?

If your Cummins starts getting too quiet, it could be mistaken for a Powerstroke or even a Duramax.
To prevent the possible confusion, they'll clean out the exhaust and, if necessary, remove the muffler.

edit:
On the intake side them pesky Chubbies, and Ferds keep getting sucked into the air filter, so's they need to be cleaned out once a year too.

That's my story and I'm stickin' to it.

I guess you can order one,but the Ford dealer near me has one and it is very quiet but I think the new Cummins is quieter.

Re:Noise of Cummins

Real Answer:
'Cuz the Manager has a boat payment due.

Probably to check for an excuse to cancel your warranty, ie modifications to intake or exhaust systems.

Re:Noise of Cummins

Back to the subject of noise, I was quite surprised when I went out and started mine yesterday. It got down really "cold" here in Florida night before. It was down to 46 degrees (I know, I know, I have not the slightest idea of what cold is - - yada yada yada ). Anywho, it rattled quite loudly for about 2 miles, then started quieting down. What is all that about? ???

NoisyBob
