Talking no power/ surging/

Just bought this used 03 dodge with about 125K on it. Was running great, then the other day I noticed that when you depress the pedal more than about 1/3 down it stumbles, looses power and just acts wierd, the sound totally changes when it happens, like it is starved of fuel.
I replaced the fuel filter which was pretty dirty, put a new APPS on it...because i was getting a dead pedal also, at first it was back to normal.. then after a few days it started surging or stumbiling when you depress the pedal, it is showing and odd code p0633 SKIM ??? also every now and then it will just die and when this happens it is hard to crank back up, i have two different programmers a bullydog and a quadzilla race module( right now i have the quad on it, not stacked) on the highest setting on the quad it will run up the rpm range in 1st and seem to pull fine after it shifts into 2 it will lose power at about 2000 rpms and not have any power at all, as far as i know the truck has never had a lift pump put on it, also when the engine is warming up it almost acts like a gasoline engine with a big cam in it, it will just sit there and almost "lope" not real good with these cr trucks yet so any and all advice would be greatly appreciated

When i got that code i was stranded in walmart parking lot with a no start condition. The ecm had lost programming, dont know that's what caused it but bullydog tech fixed it. That code is set when the truck doesnt recognize the key your using. It will shut down until it sees what it wants. Or until you have to tow it to the dealership and get charged a small fortune. But you might want to check your fuel pressure as you are describing. You are on the right track, might check fca. What if you run it with no programming? What does it do then?

still stumpped

thanks for the reply, if i take the programmer off it dosnot act as bad but i can still tell it isnt working quite right, kinda thru me when i changed the fuel filter and it seemed to work ok for a couple of days, also does it have more than one fuel filter?? will the lift pump just quit or will it gradually go out of comission? do u think i should contact bullydog and see what thay say, the truck has had the bullydog on it for the past few years according to the last owner? i just put the quadzilla on it thanks oh yea not trying to sound stupid but what is fca??

FCA is fuel control actuator. Located on the back of the CP3 injection pump. It meters the fuel from the injection pump to the rail.

Check your fuel pressure. Sounds like the transfer pump is going/gone bad. I just had to replace mine for almost the same reason. Little or no power and felt like it was starved for fuel but it would get a little better with a filter change.

I got the replacement pump from Genos and it took a little over an hour to change out (I work slow).

My guess would be the lift pump or transfer (they might be the same thing not to sure ); when whichever one of those went out on mine the truck dies on the highway started back up and acted just like you are stating and I am running the same Quad box as you. The shop replaced it with http://www.genosgarage.com/prodinfo....UMP_FPD4089602 and now it runs great. Just realized it must have been the transfer pump.
