Power surging with smarty

When ever i get down on the skinney pedal it seems like i get what i can best describe as surging of engin power and i hear the turbo get loud then quite then loud and so on. It only does it when im on the gas really hard. Any ideas?

it is because your throttle response is much quicker when running smarty. it is less noticeable with a stick and larger turbo.

Only time I noticed the surge is on the very high settings (and the beta 4.4). The stock lift pump can't keep up with the demand.

They have a hard fuel down low that may drain your rail pressure fast and fill it back quick? Have you installed a pusher pump ? That may help some IMO.

Sounds similar to what mine did on levels #7 and #9 with the stock lift pump. At around 2200 RPM at WOT it would bounce up and down about 100-200 RPM's. I installed a fuel pressure gauge and found out my FP was "0" at WOT on just level 5.

Thanx for the reply guys. It sounds like im not getting enouph fuel from the lift pump so i guess the first stage is to get a fuel gauge and see what its doin and possibly upgrade!!!!

that's always a good idea. genosgarage.com sells a few different choices for picking up f/p, or you can go to diesel manor.
