depending on what site you are on is the answer you're gonna get. on here 90 to 95 percent of the replies you will get will be a cummins. now get on a site like the diesel stop and that number will drop drastically but you will still have ford owners telling you to get a cummins. the best thing you can do is drive all three and make the decision yourself. but in my opinion you can't beat a cummins with a stick.

I don't do any heavy hauling or long distance but my father did. My father was a die hard Ford fan. When he started delivering travel trailers and fifth wheels to dealers around the country he naturally bought a ford. Within six months, he traded his Ford for his first Dodge Cummins. He complained of not enough power and too many problems. He had three that had over 400,000 miles on them before he sold or trded them off. His last one, which was a 2001, only had about 250,000 when he sold it because he had cancer. He still talks to the guy he sold it to. The guy told him recently that the truck had over 850,000 miles on it and nothing more than a bad fuel pump or such. He told him he was going to drive it until the wheels fell off or the engine gave out, which ever came first.
Just remember, the keys to a long living diesel engine are oil changes and good clean fuel. I bought my first Dodge Cummins this year and I plan on having it for a long time.
