New tranny, getting temps flying alll over the place
I have a new Ultimate Trans. I towed 10k last week, and it normally runs around 180. but this trip, even on the flats, it was between 180 and 240. It was even 240 on the flats! it would just get hot, stay there, then drop down to 180 within a few miles, stay under 200, then rocket up to 240*. I stopped and changed the Torque management on my tnt-r from 3 to default, didn't make any difference. Once I got to my destination, unloaded, I noticed fluid all over under the truck and a puddle on the ground. It came from the inspection port. Had a shop look at it, couldn't find anything but a damp inspection port. I got back on the freeway, fluids were fine, and it was around 180 the whole way back. Was there something plugged? It is reaching 2k miles, so I had if flushed and the filter changed and haven't driven since. I have an aftermarket cooler from O'reily's to put on but it looked like a pain so I'm waiting a few days. Any thoughts?
