I replaced my Moogs 2 weeks ago after fighting with it and trying everything for 6 months and 15,000 miles. The truck drives like new again! I installed O.E. joints

I purchased the kit made by general from harbor freight for $65.It worked great and my truck was rusted together pretty good.I seen guys say that this is a junk kit,but I had great sucess with it,and it didnt cost me $300.If I did this job 3 or 4 times a year I would have purchased a better kit.But I didnt use MOOG so one time should do it.

I'm some glad I read this thread . I was about to buy a set of moog ball joints. Anyone able to tell me where I can get a set of these other brand ball joints, I live in Canada. The design of the lower moog ball joint is what I am looking for just in another brand where the grease nipple is screwed in on the top edge of the balljoint as one that screws in the center will get sheared of. I have a 2006 dodge ram mega cab 4x4 ,gas engine. The truck is mounted on 2500 series chassis.

Well, it's been about 40K miles since the balljoint installation and I've lived with the steering all this time. At this point it seems the "wandering" has been tamed down a bit. Either I'm just totally used to it or it is actually getting better. I'm still left with the dilemma of what to replace the lowers with when I'm ready. The original lowers only lasted 40K and I expect the moogs are probably about done by now too.

2wks ago I replaced all 4 bj w/XRF. Upon removal of the bj....they didnt appear to be bad but at 220k mi and everything apart i proceeded to replace all 4. Steering wheel will now turn 1/4 left or right w/out any movement to actually turn, lots of slop. The truck drove so much better prior to bj install. Is this similar to what's going on?

Your situation sounds worse than mine but yes, it sounds similar.

all 4 with XRF? did you work on tie rod ends or pitman arm? also did you need adjustable uppers, they are used to fix allignment issues I just bought all 4 XRF and will see how they work first hand.
