New engine, ticking noise when start up?
Sounds like a lifter ticking on a gas engine. Usually just on start up, then goes away after it's warm.
Any reason for alarm? Just put about 1100 miles on engine. Was a reman long block.

My truck has done this for years. It does it about the first 30 seconds or so. I believe that one of the diesel guru's said that it was the injectors/fuel system purging air. Don't quote me on that, tho...
