new engine how can i tell???
after blowing a turbo my engine had to be replaced...under waranty thank GOD...but!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!! how can i tell if it was really done??? i remember when my truck was new it took 20k + miles to get above 14 to 15 mpg....it is getting the same as the old motor and has the same exact felling and performance as the old without the noise....looking under the hood everything looks like nothing has been touched..othe than a clean block....is there a number on the block that can be traced??? (NOT THE HEAD AND VALVE COVER THE BLOCK) thanks
all I can tell you is that if it was done under warranty and done by Cummins , the only parts that will be replace are anything that is out of reuse specifications. you said you lost the turbo. Then the pistons that have damage from the debris will be replace only , no rod bearing or main bearing will be replaced , you will get new piston rings , if the block is ok , it will be reuse and if the head is ok it will be reused. hope that helps......
ok it is on the work order engine and a engine short block number was used..........so how can i tell if it was replaced...ooo and it wasnt done by cummins it was done by a dodge dealer...........thanks
i do have the work order and it does list the parts they said they changed and i dont want a price...i just want to know for pc of mind ,did the change it?? i have some queston that they did....thanks
