Need tranny advice (built or not)
So i bought my first CR the other day, and it is amazing. That being said, my truck shifts funny so i want to explain my problem and get yals advice. When it is first started up in the am, it shifts perfect wit no troubles. Its not until the engine gets to operating temp that it starts acting funny. It will still shift but when your at a stop and go to take off itwill nt shift from 1-2, 2-3 without giving it half throttle and it will shift prity hard btween 2300-2500 rpms. and when your slowing down at 25 mph it has a harsh dn shift. Could this be a sign that my tranny is built or could something b wrong with it. the guy i got it from said the guy that he got it from put a shift solenoid in it?? But ive bn told by many that a CR auto with 255k has to have bn rebiult b4. So any advise would b appriciated.

Have someone put it on a scanner and test the tranny VB electronics..
Gov. Press. solenoid gets trash in it pretty badless on these tranny's...
New electronics and fresh fluid may take care of it...
Check that first!

255K on the thing?? Wow.
Sounds like your pressure solenoid. Drop the pan and install a new GM style. They lay sideways and I think the fluid flushes them out better than the stock ones that sit vertically. A new solenoid kit doesn't cost that much, and it's worth the try. It worked for mine.
Oh, and you may need to adjust the front band....
