Need to know the name of this part..
I have diesel gushing out of one of the copper lines that goes into the engine. It's right after the fuel filter and sits on the right side of the engine. It is the 3rd line back on the engine. I was driving to church this morning and when I got to church I started smelling diesel inside the truck and as I parking I noticed smoke coming out on the side of the truck. I cut off the engine and lifted the hood to see nothing wrong, but I noticed diesel dripping from the wheel well. After this I had someone try to crank the engine and noticed the diesel squirting out from this line. I don't know what to call it when I went to all of the auto stores nearby. I have removed it from the truck and found where it is leaking, I'm hoping the dealer will have this part. Thanks for the help.
It sounds like an injector line. Common failure on an 06. Any dealer will stock them. There might be some special tools to change one, but I'm not sure. I am sure that you need to NOT drive it till it's fixed and you need to make sure the blue clamps on them are tight at all times. I check mine every few oil changes.
Thanks for the name! Mine will not crank, I'm assuming b/c of this issue. If I remember correctly, I think mine is the third one back and I found a site that said to call the Cummins shop to see if they carry this b/c it will be cheaper than a dealer. I will be sure to check this more often this is the 2nd time in 2 months I have been down for a pretty major issue.
It's my pot and I'll stir it if I want to. If you're not careful, I'll stir your's as well!

I am confused about this pipe being on the RIGHT side of the engine. There are no fuel lines on the right side of the engine, only the left.
Here's a thread to look at. There's pictures on page 2 of the injector lines. Like was said above, this is a common issue.
