talked to dealership, they said they have checked fuel pressure, injector cutout, and injector leakdown, and that all of that looks ok. They said they have a call in to Chrysler to see which way to go next, but they told me since the miss isn't that bad that they are probably going to leave it as-is!!!

Can you beleive that??????? The guy had the nerve to tell me that!!!!!

I will update next time i hear something.

Thanks for the advise.

If it is still under warranty, why not take it to another Dodge dealer instead of fighting with them.

It seems like they really don't want to fix it. Moreover if they do work on it, it may come back worse than when they started. Well, let us know how it works out.

If they're going to stick to there story that they recognize there is a problem but are not going to doing anything about make them put that in there invoice they have to give you and have them sign it. Pretty sure if they do that and you take that piece of paper to another dealer they will go out of there way to get your business in these tough times. If they don't put it in writing throw the "lawyer" word around because what they're doing is downright wrong.

Another update on my short repair saga:

Went by yesterday morning and after it sat over the weekend it was missing badly and FINALLY they believed that there is a problem and are putting in 6 new injectors.

So I am jumping for joy to finally get my truck back and I asked them when they anticipated being finished, the guy looks me right in the face and says "I don't know" ! I called at noon for an update, no return call, called again at 3pm for a ballpark completion date, no return call, drove by their in my worn out '84 6.9L Ford after work and the guy didn't even know where they were at on my truck. He ran out and flagged down the technician in the parking lot who told him they had 3 in and 3 more to install today. I said ok, when do you expect to be done, tuesday, wednesday? He again said " I don't know" and "we'll call you when we're done".

So here we are with already 5 solid days to troubleshoot and R&I 6 injectors and they're not finished yet and have no idea when they will be finished. This from an large shop, probably 20 bays, with 5 cars in it besides mine being worked on....really swamped.

In case anyone is curious this is at Don Davis Motor Company in El Campo, Texas.

Thanks,

Bowedup

Your happy that they decided to change all injectors, so you should not worry if its done tue, wed., or on thursday. Chrysler just like GM will be a part owned government company controlled by Gov. appointed czar's so in the future you might have to wait weeks just for an appointment.

Some of those guys in EC could care less if they get your business. I bought a truck from them several years ago and 2 trucks from them in bay city. The BC crew will help you a little more. If there is a problem it doesn't take much fussing to get the problem solved down there.

So, instead of socialized medicine, we have socialized auto repair?

I would escalate to the dealership general manager. This isn't rocket science; they should be able to give you a date and stick to it.
If they are running into parts availability issues, that's a different problem altogether and likely to be entirely out of their control.

I agree, I have no problem with parts availability issues, but I do have a problem with the fact that no one will tell me if there is an issue or not. At least give me something to go on so i can plan my day/week around when I can expect my truck back?

OK, finally got the call the truck was ready for pickup at 4pm yesterday, went down and picked it up, got a 1 line service report said "replaced 6 injectors" for 5 days work, dealer would not give me any details of what tests were performed, what pressures were checked, etc. Fired up truck and it is running good now, but Jake brake now does not work. Sat at dealership from 4:15pm until 6pm last night with tech and service manager trying to figure out what the problem was, finally they gave up and asked me to drop it back off with them this morning!

So at 8pm the truck goes back again.....

I don't trust this dealership at all, but the next closest one is about 20 miles away and I do not have the time to go to/from during their working hours and my working hours.

I got a call from them at lunch. The air solenoid is out on my Jake Brake and there are none available through the Chrsyler parts network, only a couple at some dealers up north. They are supposed to order one for me, but they have no idea of a ship date. And the best part, now they are fumbling around saying they may not warranty the part now that they know it is just under $500.....

At least i have my truck back, even if it is not right.

I think they were figuring it would be something like a $20 part when they agreed to fix my Jake Brake since it was working when i dropped it off, once they found out how expensive the part was now they are backtracking....

Buy the part direct from Cummins, and install it yourself! Save time and pain!
