Unhappy My truck embarrassed me tonight! Now I need some help...

Cruising home after my son's soccer game I see this guy in a lowered and hopped-up HEMI powered quad cab eye balling me while stopped in the cross traffic. So as I turn the corner in front of him I figure I'll lay into it a little and let him hear the turbo sing a bit and follow it up with a chorus of screaching tire . So I roll into it pretty good as I make the turn and the turbo starts singing and right when I think its about to light off the truck falls flat on its face and the engine dies!

What the heck? Fuel pressure seemed normal, although I was watching the road and not the gauge when it died, and the CEL did not come on. Not sure if there are any codes stored because I forgot to check when I got home. Fuel filter is pretty fresh with only 2500 miles or so on it, and I have about 1/2 tank of diesel. Think the lift pump hiccupped? Or may be on its way out? I got on it a couple times afterward and it seemed fine.

So what do you guys think?

I'll check codes first thing in the morning. I'm pretty sure there'll be something there.

Don't think anything is loose, but I'll double check tomorrow. Like I said, it ran fine afterward. We'll see what happens tomorrow.

Never tried the Edge or Attitude, but I really like my Quad stuff. The Std. module offers just what I want. About the only other thing that intrigues me is the Smarty, but programmers make me nervous.

Checked this morning for codes and it comes up clean, no codes. Guess I'll just drive it and see if it does it again.

Paul, I got the Hemi crowd back for you on my way home from Glamis..

I was cruising down the freeway minding my own bid-ness, and this loud pedal stabing ruckus starts shaking my truck. Some kid right next to me in an un-corked Hemi was wanting to "go" in 75MPH LA traffic.

We both saw the same hole in the traffic, but I got there first. I continued to block him for a good few miles all the while giving him a bit of a smoke screen..

Made my trip home much less sleepy..

Hey Pauly!

Did you happen to have your hand on the shifter and maybe bumped the key and turned the thing off??? I had that happen to me once. My airhorn switch is on the panel and I went to hit it one day and bump the ignition and shut the truck off. The ignitions in these truck are sensitive.
