You know, I have a long lanyard on my key ring, maybe I jerked on it a bit in my excitement ( - oh, that didn't come out right). I'll see if I can duplicate it tomorrow.

We both saw the same hole in the traffic, but I got there first. I continued to block him for a good few miles all the while giving him a bit of a smoke screen..

Made my trip home much less sleepy..

Fun in the sand, fun on the highway - sounds like you had a good weekend!

So I roll into it pretty good as I make the turn and the turbo starts singing and right when I think its about to light off the truck falls flat on its face and the engine dies!

What the heck? Fuel pressure seemed normal, although I was watching the road and not the gauge when it died, and the CEL did not come on. Not sure if there are any codes stored because I forgot to check when I got home. Fuel filter is pretty fresh with only 2500 miles or so on it, and I have about 1/2 tank of diesel. Think the lift pump hiccupped? Or may be on its way out? I got on it a couple times afterward and it seemed fine.

So what do you guys think?
There must have been an absence of fuel in some way or another, either by a lack of fuel (starvation) or the electronics quit firing the injectors. Did you check your records on the commander to see if you had any out of wack numbers to cause it to defuel? I am leaning towards a freak instance and that is it. Kind of like my truck will start hard once or twice a month and be fine the rest of the time. Good luck but I wouldn't loose any sleep over it.

I would say that if you bumped the key and shut it of then you need to apologize to your truck. Your truck didn't embarrass you, you embarrassed yourself.

I am thinking that all the fuel went to one side of the tank when you were g-forceing the corner enough for a quick shot of air in the fuel line. Just a guess.

Man, I'm kinda relieved after reading the whole post. At first I thought you were gonna say you lost to a Hemi!

Good luck getting to the bottom of it.

You know, sometimes these truck just do crazy things like that. I was driving mine down the highway once and it just started bucking and lost power and the CEL came on. I pulled over, cleared the code and it has never happened again.
On my 03, one time, I started the truck and put it in gear and as soon as I hit the accelerator the truck died. I started it and it did the same thing again. Started it again and it worked fine and never did it again. Go figure...

This same thing happened to me, every once in a while when it was stock. Very annoying, a couple of times embarrassing. After I bought and installed Smarty, it has never done it again.
