The brilliance in American engineering!!! Or should I say Mexican?

I was too, and I still am, but man the power you get from one is awesome compared to a plug in box.

Doh!

She did it again! This time while cruising home on the freeway. Here's what went on:

Cruising at about 75 mph with the Quad X2 on the Mileage Max program I could feel the truck slowly picking up speed. So I lift just a hair and it slows too much, so I feather in a little more throttle and again it picks up too much speed. Again I let off just a touch, and again the truck slows too much. So I add a little throttle, then a little more, then even more but the truck continues to slow. I quickly more to the shoulder and before I make it the truck dies. I immediately check for codes and get nothing! So I start her back up, she fires right away, and I drive home without further incident. But I did notice my lift pressures where jumping around quite a bit, bouncing from 2 psi up to 10 psi and everywhere in between.

So, you guys think its the obvious - the lift pump? A couple hours after I got it home I turned the Quad box all the way up (100 h.p.) a did a couple full throttle runs and she didn't skip a beat. Not sure what to make of everything.

Pauly,

Check along your wiring harness back to the lift pump to see if a wire is rubbing against metal. You could have an intermittent short.

When I first got my truck (I bought it new) it would cut out for no reason just like what you are describing. Happened three times. Didn't matter if I was getting on it or just cruzing. It would always start right back up. My guess was that something was tripping the computer to fool it into thinking that key was being turned off. There were no codes - even had the dealer check it out & they did not find anything. Anyway, three years later, truck has not done it anymore. Must have been some electronic gremlins that left my truck to invade someone elses .

You know I had a similar problem, but I was going down the road and the cruise engaged it self. I was going 40-45 and all of a sudden I'm being sucked back into the seat. I tried to brake, but it just kept going, the only thing that stopped it was pushing in the clutch.

The brake didnt stop my wifes either luckily she had the presence of mind to kill it since the brake didnt shut it down I just assumed it was the TPS being a squirrell probably will never know.

So I roll into it pretty good as I make the turn and the turbo starts singing and right when I think its about to light off the truck falls flat on its face and the engine dies!

What the heck? Fuel pressure seemed normal, although I was watching the road and not the gauge when it died, and the CEL did not come on. Not sure if there are any codes stored because I forgot to check when I got home. Fuel filter is pretty fresh with only 2500 miles or so on it, and I have about 1/2 tank of diesel. Think the lift pump hiccupped? Or may be on its way out? I got on it a couple times afterward and it seemed fine.

So what do you guys think?
Wonder what the guy im the hemi had to say to his friends. You know he had to be dying laughing. I hate that happened to you but just have to laugh. Imagine seeing someone trying to honk their truck around in front of you and stalling out. I think I would wet my pants laughing so hard. Thats the funniest thing I have heard all day.

Think I found the problem.....

Found a seriously frayed wire on the Quadzilla harness while installing the new X2 harness. I most likely cause the damage while pulling the harness through the firewall . I was very careful with the new one so as not to end up with the same issue.
