mileage with the 35 12.5 toyo M/T?
i have been doing some shoppin around and have pretty much decided on the 35x12.5x17 toyo open country MT. wondering what kind of mileage increase/decrease im goin to be expectin. those Fun Country II that i have on there are only rated for 2600 lbs per tire. the Toyos are 3600. max psi is 50 on the FC II and 65 on the Toyos. im also going 2 inches taller so that will reduce the RPMs at highway speed. what kind of mileage are you all gettin??

I average about 15 MPG, with the lift and the tires. I would say about 50/50 mixed driving. Prior to the lift and tires I averaged about 16.5. I lost a little mileage with this set-up...

You won't notice much if any these trucks have so much torque and hp that you would have to fill the bed with slate to notice a mpg loss or power loss. Good luck post some pics when done everyone loves pictures.

thats good to know. i was thinkin i might increase a little as the tires that i have on there now look like their low with 50 PSI in em. i was thinking that those toyos being a harder tire with way more load capacity should be better for MPG

I have an auto and 3.73 gears. Bigger tires create more resistance.

good point. i have 3.73s with the 6 speed. the taller the tire the less RPMs also. i think a RPM drop would make a pretty good difference too. what kind of tires you running?

You're looking for an E rated tire.
I run BFG all terrains they are D rated, I got them near free though . Taller tires will help get the RPMs down but the extra resistance costs fuel. With the auto it cost me some mpg but the 6 speed is a screamer at hwy speeds.
Also the mud terrains add some additional resistance over an A/T... something to think about.
Hope that helps you decide.

Again, all my fuel mileage numbers are based off the 3.73s with the G-56 in a 2006. Comparable RPMs to the NV5600 with 4.10s. I wouldn't count on gains on fuel mileage with the 35s, especially the Toyo's (each weighing in at approx 85 lbs a tires!!).

I had 315 BFG's put on my truck when I bought it, and then ended up with the 35x12.5 toyos, I didn't notice too much difference in the two as far as mileage. I'm runnin 4.10s with an auto, on the highway the tire seems to really shine, around town you'll notice the extra rubber for sure. I average around 17 to 19MPG, but I'm almost all highway.
